OLD-WORLD WAINSCOTING
Back in the 18th-century when this Massachusetts farmhouse was constructed, there wasn't any such thing as a master bath. So architect Michael T. Gray and interior designer Hattie Holland carved one from a hallway and extra wainscoting and window casings to make a feeling of the past.
FLORAL MURAL
"I love cherry flowers," says designer Caroline Beaupere. "This master bathroom at a home in New Jersey was motivated by hanami, the Japanese tradition of going to see the blossoms as part of a celebration of spring."
BLUE CEILING
Designer Eddie Lee reimagined this master bathroom as "a mix of English charm and Asian lushness, with a few European classicism added in," he states. Panels grace the walls, while Farrow & Ball paint overhead mimics a cloudless sky.
COURTYARD WINDOW
A luxurious tub (using its own chandelier!) Boasts a view of an Arizona home enclosed garden.
ORANGE ACCENTS
Pagoda mirrors give "a tiny jolt" to the master bath in this Bahamas house, designed by Amanda Lindroth.
HIS AND HERS SINKS
Within an open-air Kenya home, designer Suzanne Kasler insisted on double sinks, a transatlantic amenity she understood the American owners could overlook.
